| Details: Summary of Position:The Polymer Manufacturing Manager leads the safe, cost effective polymer operations within acceptable quality standards. This includes schedule execution, standard operating procedures, partner training, and the fair/consistent application of Henkel’s policies and procedures. Adherence to Henkel’s Safety, Health, and Environmental standards and practices are maintained as a top priority. The Polymer Manufacturing Manager interacts with Planning, Maintenance, HSE, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Accounting, Distribution and Human Resources. Authority:The Polymer Manufacturing Manager is empowered to make decisions regarding:Purchasing equipment and supplies for the plant up to $2,000.Manufacturing staffing levels. Hiring/termination of partners and associates.Manufacturing personnel issues. Discipline of hourly partners and associates.Implementation of improvement plans.Correction of any safety hazards.Sign off on any MOC’s related to Polymer Operations. Responsibility:The Polymer Manufacturing Manager shall bear final responsibility for the following areas:Adherence to Henkel SHE standards, policies and initiatives.Execution of duties in accordance with Henkel’s SHE standards and practices including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Support of SHEQ ISO DQS 9001, 14001 & 18001 certifications and programs.Plan and execution of a schedule to meet caulk production plan and toll customer orders.Quality of packaged finished goods.Development and support of training programs.Cross train manufacturing hourly partners and associates.Cultivation of Henkel’s culture and values by promoting communication, teamwork, and respectful treatment of all individuals.Cultivate and sustain a 5S Continuous Improvement program.Timely documentation of HR related issues i.e. attendance, discipline, promotions, staffing, etc.Mentoring, coaching, leading Reactor Operators and Machine Operators to meet all performance goals.Full budgetary responsibility within Polymer operations.All polymer operations related variances. Duties:The essential duties of the Polymer Manager are:Monitor manufacturing performance in real time insuring efficient execution of the production plan.Monitor and maintain polymer operations to meet all state and federal environmental requirements.Ensure a safe, clean workplace, including accident notification, investigation and implementing corrective action with follow up.Aggressively support the company culture and business mission.Special projects as assigned by Plant Manager.Continuous improvements in cost, safety, productivity, and quality.Effective communications with and training/development of partners and associates in manufacturing.Support Preventative Maintenance program.Performance evaluations. Performance Measurements:Metrics include, but are not limited to:Production to SchedulePlant related variances.Budget performance.Total efficiency of the polymer operations.On time and fill rate.Communication.Documentation.Safety Metrics. Minimum Requirements:Experience in water based polymer manufacturing preferred.BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry required.Strong people and leadership skills.Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.Computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Lotus Notes and SAP. Henkel Corporation is an equal opportunity employerMinority/Female/Disabled/Veteran | ||||
